Yellow Curry and Brown Rice

This piece probably looks the most dysfunctional but consists of the collection of colors used most often in 21st Century architecture and design.  Browns, Golds, and off whites provide a traditional yet edgy theme for both interior and exterior.  Every righteous girl has got a closet full of these tones.  Just think, if Indiana Jones could pull it off, then this should be a piece of cake for us.  This vision board includes pictures taken from a few of my favorite photographers; Michael Kay and Lisa Ono.  Comprised of pictures from New York’s Central Park to South Africa’s wild life in its natural habitat.  As Ralph Lauren displays on his runway, nothing is sexier on a woman than an outdoorsy look.  These colors could be used to throw the greatest intimate party to a most divine classic pad.  With a few vintage style pieces added, a warm European look could be created in minutes.  Gold makes its way in and out of fashion jewelry every so many years, but I feel brown is the color of fall and comes around every year like clockwork.  I see these shades as being the character colors of most contemporary designers.

Rhythm and Blues

Don’t you just love wintertime? The holidays, family, sharing, food, love, Spring Fashion Collections. That’s what makes the holiday season all worthwhile, isn’t it?  It’s about 87 degrees outside where I live, but to give off the illusion of winter only takes a mindset. The color I relate this season to the most is blue. That’s in all shades.  Whether it be navy, dark, royal, lapis, electric, robin’s egg or baby, blue is my absolute favorite color this time of year.  Another fave of mine includes the collection sported at New York’s Fashion Week ‘08(according to InStyle) by Leanne Marshall of Project Runway.  I love her color scheme and trend, it’s oh so simple and elegant with a splash of flair.  These tones would make for a great intimate gathering, wedding, living room, office interior, or whatever your heart desires.  Personally, I would love my bedroom to be inspired by this board.  It’s a cool warm feeling that can only be given off by one color: BLUE.

METALLIC.a

I think ever since the striking of the millennium, “Glam” and “Funk” have joined forces for good.  So, with this Matthew Williamson inspired board intact, I call this a “classic,” if I may dare. I love the clashing tones of deep purple, electric blue, fire pink, sunshine yellow, and blistering black and white patterns.  They have motivated me to create my “METALLIC.a” board including jewels, sparkles, glitter, sharp conception, and modern design.  I see this being a design for someone with an eclectic personality looking for the next big thing.  This, my lovely people is CHANGE.  I hope to make CHANGE occur sooner than you think.  This has been a public service announcement, please watch your step.

iCreate

When I have a tough time getting inspired, I work on a board.  I look for anything that can get me working, writing, dancing, singing, smiling, and eventually taking over the world.  This is one of my favorite boards because the colors are so versatile.  Whether the season, mood, gender, age, these colors in candy, art, interior décor, toys, couture and all work in more ways than one.  I can just imagine myself in a room filled with snow, sun, sparkles, matte tones, introverts, extroverts, smiles, frowns, and a few shades of powder.  I’m sure then the inspiration would come running through my veins, I just know it.  I encourage creativity and my best work comes from studying others.  Always.Stop.To.Create.
